Kate Dicker SWE RE
Kate Dicker trained at Camberwell College of Arts in Graphic Arts (1980-83) and at Winchester School of art in the History of Art of the Modern Period (1992/94) and MA Fine Art Printmaking (2003-04). She is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and the Society of Wood Engravers and has been on the committees for both and, recently, re-joined the committee for the SWE. After college she specialised in wood engraving, exhibiting regularly and taking on commissions. In 2021 she was chosen for a Southern Arts Residency in Italy where she spent a month in Tuscany, drawing the vineyard landscape, and then returning to develop her wood engraving practice.
Kate is a versatile artist and now concentrates on the freedom and colour of mono-type printmaking which she creates in her studio in Winchester. Recently, her work has been exhibited at The Arc Winchester, Gilbert White’s Museum & Gallery at Selborne and St Barbe Museum, Lymington. She teaches wood engraving and drawing at various print studios and is pleased to continue leading an ongoing Master Class.
